Blepharoplasty
Eyelid surgery to remove the hooding, puffiness and tired look of ageing eyes — opening the gaze and refreshing the whole face with a near-invisible scar.
What it is
Blepharoplasty removes or repositions excess skin and fat from the upper and/or lower eyelids. Upper-lid surgery lifts hooding that can obscure the gaze; lower-lid surgery addresses bags and puffiness, for a rested, more youthful eye.
Who it's for
- Hooded or droopy upper eyelids
- Under-eye bags or puffiness
- A tired appearance despite adequate rest
- Upper-lid skin heavy enough to affect vision
The procedure
Performed under local anaesthesia with sedation, taking one to two hours. Incisions hide in the natural lid crease and just below the lashes. Day-care.
Recovery & aftercare
Bruising and swelling for about a week; stitches removed at five to seven days. Most return to work in seven to ten days.
